Brazilian starlet Endrick has played down comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo and Pele ahead of his summer move to Real Madrid.

Endrick will join Madrid from Palmeiras in July when he turns 18. The starlet has previously admitted that former Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo was his "biggest idol" as he prepares to follow in his footsteps. Much will be expected of the young Brazilian when he arrives at the Santiago Bernabeu, but he says he's willing to cope with the pressure to ensure he inspires others.

He told CazeTV's YouTube channel: “There are things that happen and there are people who speak and say, he is the new Pele, the new Ronaldo… I want to be Endrick and for me what is said does not matter to me.Now I have a great responsibility, I am going to endure the pressure because I know I can help my family and I also want to encourage other young people.”

Endrick has recently been in Madrid to meet up with new team-mates, including Jude Bellingham, as well as manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Brazilian will make the move after playing a key role for Palmeiras and having already received a call-up to the senior Brazil side despite the fact he's still only 17.

Endrick will continue to play for Palmeiras until he joins Madrid in July, where he will link up with fellow Brazilian attackers Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo. It promises to be a big summer for the teenager as he may also feature for Brazil at the 2024 Paris Olympics as well as the Copa America.
